Sounds like a plan. On the Trent I've been bagging on meaty marine 21m (big dogs) 21m pellets. Sometimes putting a small pink boilie (snow man) style. I've tested loads over the years (wasted cash on them that is). The meaties have won.. meaties all the way for me this year 21m big dogs.

I know 21 m big dogs. And little chub still have a go (chub chokers) 1lb chub on 21m boilies.have you used meaty marines please try them thay bag.

Do you make your own bait bowserbradleys

yes i do..but its not the best fun you've ever had!..but its a lot cheaper tho a one kilo bag of base mix does roughly 2 kilo at 15/16mm so with the additive and eggs i suppose it costs about a fiver a kilo..ish

Used to make my own baits many years ago with some good results, the Rottweiler put a stop to it after I decided to have a go at Hutchy's Monster Crab whilst she was out, on her return she was physically sick as she walked into the kitchen so I was then banished to the garage for my bait making, couldn't understand why? Suppose it's the only benefit of smoking, dulls the sense of smell. Anyhow it gets awfully cold in the garage during the winter months, and not having the time I gave up, still have all of my rolling gear and was thinking of starting up again myself, can anyone suggest a good cheap base mix?? :)

Yeah, but a 4lbish Bream can still wolf down two of these on a hair! (Been there, done that, too many times). Dont you just love those Trent Bream?
Well actually I dont mind them, its just on my normal gear they dont put up much of a fight, even with the current to help.
Mark at The Bait Kitchen does some even larger (28mm) Halibut Donkey Chokers for Catfish (they come pre drilled and you fish 5 or 6 on a long hair), if the Bream become too much of a problem I could always give them a go.
