For your attention, as no doubt your all aware of the devistating effects this disease can have on fish populations. Below is a list of recently confirmed outbreaks. Please make every effort to contain the spread of this virus by drying your kit out thoroughly between fishing trips and different venues.


September 11th 2008: Movements of fish in and out of three fisheries, in Somerset, South Yorkshire and Worcestershire, have been restricted following the confirmation of Koi Herpesvirus (KHV) Disease.

Defra has issued Designated Area Orders prohibiting the movement of fish to and from:

* The Old Mill Fishery, Stoford, Yeovil, Somerset;
* Pine Lake Fisheries, Oak Field Farm, Kirton Lane, Thorne, Doncaster, South Yorkshire; and
* Wassell Grove Fisheries, Wassell Grove Lane, Hagley, Worcestershire.


September 4th 2008: Movements of fish in and out of Earlswood Lakes, Norton Lane, Earlswood, Solihull, West Midlands have been restricted, following the confirmation of Koi Herpesvirus (KHV) Disease. Movements of fish in and out of the adjacent waters, known as Mereside Pools have also been restricted.

Defra has issued a Designated Area Order prohibiting the movement of fish to and from Earlswood Lakes and Mereside Pools, Solihull, West Midlands.


August 28th 2008: Movements of fish in and out of Weller Pool, Lynsters Lakes, Coppermill Lane, Maple Cross, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire have been restricted, following the confirmation of Koi Herpesvirus (KHV) Disease.

Movements of fish in and out of the adjacent waters in the Colne River Valley, Hertfordshire and Greater London Area have also been restricted.


August 12th 2008: Movements of fish in and out of the Royal Horticultural Society Garden Ponds at Hyde Hall, Essex have been restricted, following the confirmation of Koi Herpesvirus (KHV) Disease.

Defra has issued a Designated Area Order prohibiting the movement of fish to and from Hyde Hall (Top and Bottom Pond), Royal Horticultural Society, Hyde Hall, Hyde Hall Road, Rettendon Common, Chelmsford, Essex.

Thanks for the info Bigiron. Doncaster is not a million miles away from me :o UV rays are the way forward for killing the fish killer.
